This autumn day

What to say on this autumn day? I could tell you about my mom’s political emails, why I recently quit my day job or how I’m trying to publish my first children’s picture book. Or perhaps that I have no idea what the hell I’m doing. I may not know more than anyone else, but some things I have noticed in the last 50 years.

One is that life’s best moments are fleeting. That is for sure. And just when you realize you’ve found something amazing, it’s gone. But you want to hold on to it.  Perhaps too tightly. Your friends, your children, your family, they will not always be there. People move on. It happens. And everything you might try to do to change it or stop it, it won’t matter. Dig your heels in, stomp your feet, even cry. You can’t control another’s feelings and dreams, because they are theirs. So be sure to have your own because you will be living with those forever, that is until they change too.
